In memory of Evgeny Emelianov

Our community sadly lost a pillar, beloved husband and partner, when Evgeny Emelyanov passed away. Only his passion for life and ability to struggle helped him endure five years of severe disease.

After the first operation, he asked me to work even harder, so that "there would be a place where to return."  And we tried to do it with all our firm STEP.

So now we will continue to do our best to make STEP live and prosper. And we want to thank all our customers who are with us in spite of everything.

It is clear that no one will replace Zhenya. His unexpected ideas, which were often ahead of time, formed the basis for many initiatives and products of STEP.

Depth and a sense of style were among the key features that attracted attention to his brilliant articles in LIFE OF BUSINESS, SNOB and other publications. His New Year's texts on the Chinese calendar are worth special mentioning.

And the books - the STEP's entire library - are his brainchild.  "Business Meetings", "Global Councils", "Business Rake Club", online consulting, which were held within STEP, are his projects, too.

He taught and raised us all and he created what we are proud to call STEP Consulting.

It is Zhenya who gave rise to STEP being its founder, ideologist, creator, methodologist and creative director at the same time.

And most importantly - he laid the foundation of the love towards customers, partners and his work that has been forming the unique spirit of STEP over the last 28 years!

Evgeny Emelyanov greatly contributed to the development of consulting as a profession by promoting it through training courses at the Moscow State University, Higher School of Economics, Russian Presidential Academy of National Economy and Public Administration and other universities.

He also developed an idea of establishing our professional network the Association of Consulting Companies (ASCONCO) that has been uniting colleagues from the consulting field for 14 years.  And the entry of STEP into the European community of consulting businesses IMCN is also his merit.

Everything is imbued with the presence of Zhenya: the house, STEP, and everything around us… His sons, grandchildren and the whole family are grieving… Customers, partners, colleagues are writing letters of condolence… Such an irreparable loss for all of us….  For me.

May you rest in peace, my dear!  And thanks for the years of love!
